This week, we wanted to share with you three organizations or businesses that are exploring social enterprise in unique and inspiring ways. We believe in the power of shared stories of hope, and these stories remind us of all the people working tirelessly to bring about change and kingdom impact all over the world. Here are a few of our favorites!

  1. Food insecurity is a major problem in many areas of the country, and access to healthy food is not an option for more communities than you might think. South Los Angeles has largely been considered a “food desert,” without easy access to grocery stores and affordable produce. The founders of Everytable are looking to change that, establishing a local fast food company centered around healthy and affordable food, pricing their food to match the median local income of its residents. This sliding scale model is being replicated throughout LA, bringing a new vision for healthy eating to communities who formerly lacked access to prepared foods with high nutritional value.
  2. The conversation around Faith and Work has been established for awhile, but it is difficult to see how churches might practically explore the integration of church and business. Made to Flourish is established in several metropolitan areas to resource and connect church leaders with the tools needed to better translate Sunday faith to Monday work. They have incredible resources for pastors, and chapters are expanding into new cities throughout 2017.
  3. With the holidays quickly approaching, it can be stressful to think about all the gift-giving that typically happens around the season. Giving gifts that are sustainably sourced is made easier through the work of Enrou, which sources home goods and gifts made by international artisans. Their products are high-quality and beautiful, leaving you able to make an ethical gift a priority this holiday season.
